Preface to Crush Hair Co. Ltd. Safety Plan
The following cursory information has been communicated to all clients and staff and updated from our original Covid Safety Plan from May 19, 2020. Clients have been given the instructions below over the telephone, via email, and through our social media channels and our website. Clients were given Covid safety information starting May 11, 2020 in anticipation of our reopening.
Covid-19 Re-Opening Procedures
All clients must wear DISPOSABLE masks. If you do not have one we can provide one for $1.
Only the person having the service may be in the salon. Please don’t bring your friends or children unless they have an appointment. They cannot wait in the salon when it is not their appointment time.
Parents of children under 15 must be in the salon with them at a safe spacing.
Please wash your hands when you arrive at our hand washing sink.
Please do not bring a coat or purse with you. We do not advise to leave your purse in your vehicle.
Please do not bring coffees or drinks with you to the salon. Please do not bring food to the salon.
When you arrive at the salon for your appointment please do not enter.
We will have markings outside for a line up to wait. Only one person can be in the reception area at a time.

Managing the Workplace
Stations have been distanced with plexiglass barriers.
Every person who enters the salon must proceed to the handwashing station upon arrival.
No person shall be permitted to enter without a mask. We have additional masks that can be distributed.
The waiting area is limited to one person with demarcations on the floor indicating where they can stand and indicating the safe distance that must be maintained from the receptionist and other working areas of the salon
Only one person may be in the waiting area
Demarcations are placed outside the salon to indicate where clients may wait to enter safely apart from one another.
The maximum capacity for the waiting area is one person.
The maximum capacity for the staff room is one person
The maximum capacity for the salon floor six stylists and six clients
The maximum capacity behind the reception desk is one person
Our full glass front window plus signage on the windows and doors indicates that clients must wait outside and look inside before entering to ensure they are the only person in our waiting area. Our receptionist also has our clients cell-phone numbers and can call them to let them know when it is safe to enter if the visual look and enter process is not clear.

Washrooms are dedicated one for clients, being the barrier free washroom, and one for staff - with clients being asked to use the washroom only if they cannot make it home to use their own washroom.
Retail products are behind a red line that prevents people from standing closely to them and touching them. A sign has been placed on the retail items stating if you touch an item you must purchase it. Prices will be given verbally from our receptionist so nobody needs to touch the items.
We will not offer beverages to clients.
Clients may not bring their own beverages or food to the salon.
Clients may not bring a coat or sweater to the salon.
Clients may not bring a purse, bag, or hat to the salon.
Clients may not bring a friend or child with them to the salon.
While clients’ colour is processing the must stay seated at their station or under the dryer. The stylist will not be in the proximity of the client during processing.
Magazines have been removed
We do not have product testers
Clients may use tap touchless to pay for their service. We also accept e-transfer at this time.
Regular safety meetings at the beginning of each day will allow us to asses and adjust our cleaning and processes as needed to maintain the highest safety standards.
2. Client Management
Clients are pre-screened with a scripted list of questions by our receptionist before booking to ensure they are not ill, have not travelled, or are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms. A sign is on the door reminding them of this policy and the receptionist will again confirm this upon entry.
Clients are to wait outside before their appointment.
Clients must arrive alone. If they need transport or a support person that person must wait outside the salon and may not enter.
We do not allow bookings of groups at this time.
We are not accepting walk-ins at this time. A sign is posted on the door to indicate this and the walk-in is asked to telephone us and not enter the salon.
No unneeded physical contact is allowed, such as handshaking or other forms of embrace.
Clients must wash hands at our handwashing sink upon entry. They must follow the one-way path to the handwashing sink.
Clients may not bring a jacket inside.
No foods or drinks are permitted or offered in the salon at this time.
Workers will wash hands:
before and after clients
when they step away from a client
after eating
after using the restroom
after handing cash
after putting on their mask and face-shield
after sanitizing their tools
after any time they touch an item that is not sanitized at their station before they touch a client
any time they leave the salon and return, such as taking out the garbage or going to have their break outdoors
Staff are not permitted to smoke or vape during their shift at this time
3. Providing personal services
Stylists have been provided with their own disposable surgical masks that must be worn at all times
Stylists must wear a face-shield or goggles
Dirty towels are immediately placed into a plastic garbage bag then washed in hot water exceeding 65 degrees Celsius. The bag will be emptied into the washer while the worker wears gloves and a mask.
Workers will wear a smock or apron over their street clothes. Smocks and aprons will be laundered at the end of the day in hot water.
Workers will wear gloves whenever possible.
4. Tools and Equipment
All employees have completed the BeautySafe General Trade Practices certificate to obtain heightened cleanliness education
All tools are cleaned with Champrocide after each service or sanitized with alcohol
Stations are sanitized with Lysol or alcohol after each service
The floor is sanitized at the end of the day and throughout the day as traffic permits
No workers are permitted to share tools
The receptionist will sanitize the colour mixing area, washrooms, and reception area on a schedule throughout the day plus at the beginning and end of each day
Stylists will sanitize the colour mixing area when they mix colour for each client
All bowls and brushes will be sanitized after use
5. Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfecting
A professional cleaner sanitizes the salon while we are closed on a schedule
The floors are sanitized at the end of each night and start of each day
All touch surfaces are sanitized throughout the day on a schedule
All stations are sanitized after each client and at the beginning and end of each shift and start and end of each day
15 minutes of sanitation time has been added in between each client to sanitize all tools and stations accordingly
The entire reception area must be sanitized each hour
The debit terminal is sanitized following each time it is touched
Retail is not to be touched unless it is to purchase it
